Beet Pickles

Remove stems from beets

Ingredients

  • 2 cups white sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups water 1 teaspoon cloves
  • 2 cups white vinegar 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon salt 1 lemon sliced thinly

Preparation

Step 1

Cook and peel 6 quart basket of beets. Halve or quarter according to size. Mix together and bring to a boil.
Add beets, simmer for 15 minutes and put in sterilized jars.
