Ingredients

  • 2 c flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter, room temp
  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 c chunky peanut butter, optional
  • 1 TBS vanilla
  • 1 1/4 c chocolate chips, divided
  • 1 1/2 c chopped pretzels, divided
  • 1/2 c peanut butter chips

Step 1

Preheat oven 350' and spray a 9 x 13 pan.

Put pretzels in a resealable bag and break them up by taking a rolling pin and roughly break them up.

In a medium bowl combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix together.

Using a mixer cream butter and both sugars together on medium speed until fluffly.

Next add eggs, vanilla and peanut butter (if using).

On low speed add flour mixture to incorporate into a batter. Over mixing will cause a tough bar.

Now add 1 cup of chocolate chips and 1 cup of the pretzels. Stir in with a spatula.

Batter is very stiff but spread into your prepared pan the best you can.

Mix together the remaining chocolate chips, pretzels and peanut butter chips. Sprinkle over top the batter and lightly press into batter.

Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.

Cool completely in pan before cutting into squares. Enjoy
