These cherry pecan cookies with orange glaze are perfect to make if you love soft and thick cookies and are a lover of cherries. Each cookie is loaded with bits of fresh cherries and pecans, then drizzled with an orange glaze that’s to die for. A delicious combination that the whole family will love.

Ingredients

  • For the Cherry Pecan Cookies
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp orange juice
  • 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted, chopped into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
  • For the Orange Glaze
  • 1 cup powder sugar
  • 1/2 tsp orange zest
  • 2-3 Tbsp orange juice, squeezed fresh

For the Cherry Pecan Cookies

Preheat oven to 350°

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon. Cut butter into mixture, using a pastry blender, until mixture resembles fine crumbs.

In a small mixing bowl, beat egg and then add orange juice. Add to flour mixture and stir until incorporated.

Add chopped cherries and pecans. Stir.

Using a 1" cookie scoop, drop each cookie onto an ungreased cookie sheet 2" apart.

Bake for 11-13 minutes or until bottoms just start to brown. Remove from oven and place on wire rack to cool.

For the Orange Glaze

In a small mixing bowl, mix powder sugar, orange zest and orange juice together until desired consistency is reached. Drizzle orange glaze with a spoon over cookies once they have cooled completely.

Let glaze set then enjoy!
