Ingredients
- 1/2 lb hamburger
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 sweet peppers, diced
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 2 celery ribs, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp paprika
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 1/2 cups parboiled rice
- 3 cups chicken stock
- 3 tbsp parsley, chopped

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350F. Brown hamburger in a frying pan, drain and set aside. In a separate pan, heat the oil, then saute the onion, sweet peppers, tomatoes, celery and garlic until vegetables are translucent. Add paprika, turmeric, cayenne, oregano and cumin and salt and pepper.
Combine rice and stock in an ovenproof casserole dish with a tight lid. Add the sauteed vegetables and hamburger. Place in preheated oven and bake for 75 minutes or until rice is cooked and liquids are incorporated into the meal.
Top with parsley before serving.
