Ingredients
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 package dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 5 cups sifted all purpose flour
- 4 tablespoons vegetable shortening

Preparation
Step 1
Heat buttermilk to luke warm and dissolve in yeast. Sift in dry ingredients and cut in shortening. Add buttermilk and yeast mixture and mix well. Cover and store in refrigerator overnight.
The next day, about 1 1/2 hours before serving, shape into rolls and let rise.
Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until brown.
