Ingredients
- 2 cups cake flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 lb. butter
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 4 squares of chocolate (melted)
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 5 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Ceam butter until light and fluffy. Add sugar and cream thoroughly. Add eggs and beat after each egg. Add melted chocolate and vanilla.
Shift flour and baking soda together and add to the batter alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour.
Bake in 2 9 inch round pans for 40 minutes at 350 degrees.
