Ingredients

  • 1 c. margerine or butter
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 t. salt
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 1 t. almond extract (optional)
  • 2 3/4 c. flour

Preparation

Step 1

Cream together shortening and sugar.
Beat in eggs, salt and flavorings.
Stir in flour and blend thoroughly.
Chill.
Roll small portions of dough on floured bards approx. 1/8-1/4 inch thick.
Cut with cookie cutters that have been dipped lightly in flour.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets, 1 inch apart.
Bake at 375. 8- 10 minutes or until golden brown.
Decorate with frosting or sprinkles.
