Ingredients

  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups skim or low-fat milk
  • 2 Tbsp. melted margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Preparation

Step 1

Mix together egg, milk and melted margarine. Combine dry ingredients. Add liquid mixture to dry ingredients and beat until all the dry ingredients are moistened. (Batter may be lumpy). Pour onto a hot, lightly oiled griddle, using about 1/4 cup batter. Bake until pancakes are puffed and bubbly. Turn and bake until nicely browned on the underside. Serve with warm maple syrup or fruit.
