Scotch Chocolate Cake

Chris Collins, a good friend when I lived in Lawrence, Kansas, made this delicious moist chocolaty cake! Unfortunately, I have lost track of her, but still use and love the recipe!!

Ingredients
- Frosting:
- 2 C. flour
- 2 C. sugar
- 1 C. water
- 1 stick margarine or butter
- 4 T. cocoa
- 1/2 C. shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 C. buttermilk
- 1 t. baking soda
- 1 t. vanilla
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 C. margarine or butter
- 4 T. cocoa
- 6 T. Milk
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 1 C. pecans
- 1 t. vanilla

Preparation
Step 1
Mix together flour and sugar in large bowl. Place water, butter, cocoa and shortening in saucepan and bring to a boil. Add to flour & sugar mixture. Add eggs, buttermilk, soda, vanilla (soda added to buttermilk) and pinch of salt. Stir & pour into greased 9 x 13 pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
While cake is baking, make frosting: Mix together butter, cocoa and milk in saucepan, stir till boiling. Remove from heat, add 1 box confectionary sugar. Then add pecans, and vanilla. Pour on cake as soon as removed from the oven.
