Ingredients

  • OPTIONAL:
  • 12 biscuits
  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter
  • 1 cup milk or buttermilk
  • 3/4 cup (3 oz.) Kraft 4 Cheese Italiano Light Blend
  • If using cheese, reduce salt to 3/4 tsp. and butter to 3 tbsp.

Preparation

Step 1

*Preheat* oven to 450.

*Combine* dry ingredients in bowl. *Cut* in butter until crumbly. *Stir* in cheese if using.

*Make a well* in the centre of the dry ingredients and add liquid all at once. *Stir* vigorously until it comes away from the sides of the bowl.

*Turn* out onto floured board and *knead* lightly a few times. *Pat* to 1/2" thickness and *cut* into desired size biscuits.

*Place* on *ungreased* baking sheet and back for 12 to 15 minutes, until done.

*Optional*

*Melt* 2 tbsp. butter with a generous pinch of Old Bay. *Brush* tops of biscuits with melted butter when you remove them from the oven.
