Ingredients

  • 2 cups oats
  • 1/2 cup wheat germ
  • 1/4 cup hemp seeds
  • 3/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup peanuts, crushed (use any nuts)
  • 1/3 cup all natural peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup agave nectar or honey
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 cup coconut flakes
  • 1/4 cup ground flax seeds
  • 4 oz dried cranberries
  • 4 oz dates, chopped

Step 1

Mix peanuts, oats, wheat germ, hemp seeds and sunflower seeds and place on a baking sheet. Toast them for 10 mins, stirring every couple mins so they dont burn.

Line a 9 x 13 inch pan with parchment or wax paper sprayed with non-stick spray.

Place the brown sugar, peanut butter, agave nectar, butter and vanilla into a saucepan and bring to a simmer stirring constantly for about a minute.

In a large bowl, mix the oat mixture, dried fruit, flax seeds, coconut and the brown suger mixture. Be sure to mix very well. Pour into prepared pan and spread with spoon.

Fold over the sides of the waxed paper and cover with another peice of greased waxed paper. Press the granola down hard so it sticks together, let cool completely for a couple of hours. Once cooled turn granola on a cutting board and cut into bars.
