Turnip Green Soup

Ingredients

• 2 big bags frozen turnip greens
• 2 cans Great Northern Beans
• 1 onion
• 2-3 potatoes
• 4-5 slices bacon
• 1 pkg Chirizo sausage
• 1 ham hock with some meat on it
• 1 tsp salt
• 1/2 tsp pepper
• 1 tsp oregano
• 1 bay leaf
• 1 tsp garlic, minced
• 1 tbs lemon juice

Preparation

Step 1

Fry bacon. Set aside. Saute onion in bacon drippings. Add greens.Cook ham hock in water to cover, bring to a boil. Add greens, onion, salt, pepper,oregano, bay leaf and garlic. Simmer. Cut up potatoes and Chirizo.Simmer.
Add beans and 1 tbs lemon juice. Cook on low in crock pot until potatoes are done.
