Ingredients

  • 4 medium baking apples, peeled and cut into wedges
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 1/2 pound caramels, unwrapped
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pound prepared pound cake, sliced

Preparation

Step 1

Coat the inside of the stoneware with nonstick cooking spray.

Layer the baking apples, apple juice and caramels in the stoneware.

Mix together the peanut butter, vanilla, cardamom and cinnamon and drop by teaspoons over the top of the apples.

Cover and cook on High for 3 to 4 hours or on Low for 6 to 8 hours. Stir thoroughly, and cook for 1 additional hour.

To serve, spoon the warm apple caramel over the slices of cake.
