Ingredients

  • 7 c. flour
  • 1 T.salt
  • 2 t. Baking Powder
  • 1 t. soda
  • 1 qt. milk
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 pkgs yeast
  • 1/2 c. sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Put milk shortening and sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil the milk, shortening and sugar. Let cool to lukewarm and add yeast to milk mixture.
Mix 6 c. flour or more. Mix into bowl with flour. Beat until well mixed. Cover let rise twice in bulk. Combine and sift 1 c. flour 1 T salt 2 t. baking powder 1 t soda. Mix throughly. Knead a couple of minutes. Put in large lightly greased bowl cover and put in refrigerator. Shape and let rise. Bake at 425 15 to 20 minutes.
