Step 1
For meatballs:
Combine meatball ingredients and blend until all ingredients are combined and mixture slightly sticks to you hands (additional water maybe needed.I use an ice cream scoop to keep balls a universal size.
Fry sausage link in oils, butter combination.It should be about and inch in depth in frying pan. Prick the sausage as it browns so its juices combine with the oils. Add onion and garlic but remove before it burns and add to gravy saucepan. Fry meatballs in batches until browned evenly on all sides.
For gravy:
combine all gravy ingredients and add the meatballs, sausage and oil to the tomatoes. simmer 4 hours.
I reserve some of the meatballs for another time and freeze them before simmering in the gravy. If left in gravy the sometimes absorb to much tomato taste.
