Found this while looking for a version of what my son dreamed up. This is simply wonderful. If you like Ranch and cheese, you will be in heaven.

Ingredients

  • 1 round loaf of sourdough (or similar) bread
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 6 slices Bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter (1-stick), melted
  • 1 heaping tablespoon ranch dressing mix (the dry stuff)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F

Slice the loaf of bread into small 'squares' without cutting through to the bottom. The loaf must stay intact. I guess... make it a blooming loaf.

Put bread onto a large piece of foil (cause you're going to wrap it up). Using your fingers, push the cheese and bacon into the cuts of the bread.

Put the ranch into the butter and stir until mixed well. Then brush or drizzle over the entire loaf of bread.

Tightly wrap up the bread with the foil and bake for 15 minutes

Open the top of the foil and bake another 10 (to get the cheese melty)
