Paula Deen's Brie en Croute

Not only does it look great, but it also tastes great! Serve with crackers.

Ingredients
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, pre-packaged
- 1 tbsp. unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans
- 1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 small wheel Brie (227 g.)
- 1 egg, beaten
- crackers for serving

Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
2. Defrost puff pastry for approximately 15-20 minutes and unfold. Make sure you flour your surface first. Roll out the edges slightly with a floured rolling pin.
3. In a saucepan melt the butter over medium heat. Saute the walnuts or pecans in the butter until golden brown, approximately 5 minutes.
4. Meanwhile, cut the rind off the top side of the Brie and place the brie in the middle of the puff pastry sheet.
5. Place the walnuts on top of the Brie. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon over the walnuts.
6. Gather up the edges of the puff pastry to the top of the brie and tie with kitchen twine (not too tight so you don't tear the pastry).
7. Brush the beaten egg over the top and sides of the pastry package. Place the brie on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving. Cheese will be hot!
