CHEESEY GARLIC BREAD ON A STICK
- 1/4 1/4 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 1/4 1/4 cup butter
- 16 16 16 oz baguette styled French bread
- 1/3 1/3 1/3 cup fresh grated Asiago cheese
- 6-8 10 6-8 10 30 inch skewers (if using wood, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling. Drain before using.
In a small saucepan, combine olive oil, butter, and garlic. Cook and stir over low heat until butter melts.
Using a serrated knife, cut bread into 1 ½ inch cubes. Place bread cubes in an extra-large bowl. Drizzle garlic mixture over bread cubes; toss to coat. Sprinkle with Asiago, toss to coat. Thread bread cubes on skewers. Transfer skewers to a baking pan.
For a charcoal grill, place skewers on the grill rack directly over medium coals. Grill, uncovered for 5-10 minutes, turning often to brown evenly. (For a gas grill, preheat grill. Reduce heat to medium. Place skewers on the grill rack over heat. Cover and grill as above.) Serve immediately.
