Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8-1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp minced onion flakes
  • 1-2 tbsp bacon bits (optional)
  • 6-8 slices slices of american cheese
  • 2 lbs large elbow macaroni
  • 1 lb cheddar cheese
  • 1 lb monterey jack
  • 1 lb colby cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Boil pasta and drain water when done, add a bit of olive oil to keep from sticking. While pasta is cooking, make a roux with the butter and flour. Slowly pour in milk as you whisk. Stir in salt, pepper, onion pepper and bacon bits. Add sliced cheese and stir until melted. Add mixture to drained pasta. Layer half mixture in a 9x13 pan. Sprinkle a layer of shredded cheese, add layer of remainder pasta mixture and layer the remainder of shredded cheese on top. Bake for 30min.
