Ingredients
- 1/2 1/2 1/2 cup butter
- 3/4 3/4 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 1 1 egg
- 1 1 1 tbsp. Whipping cream
- 1 1 1 tsp. pure extract (vanilla, lemon or a combination)
- 1-1/4 1-1/4 1-1/4 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1/4 1/4 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 1/4 1/4 tsp. salt
- Coarse sugar for decorating (colored or plain)

Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg. Blend in cream and extract. Combine dry ingredients and add until well blended. Shape into a flattened ball. Wrap in parchment and chill at least 30 minutes.
Roll out onto lightly floured board until approximately 1/4" thick. Cut into desired shapes. Sprinkle with sugar and place on parchment-covered baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake until golden brown, about 10-15 minutes. Cool. Decorate with your favorite frostings and candies.
