  • 2 Cups Sugar
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • 1 Stick Oleo or Margarine
  • 3 1/2 Tablespoons Cocoa
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1/2 Cup Vegetable Shortening
  • 1/2 Cup Buttermilk
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • Frosting
  • 1 Stick Oleo or Margarine
  • 3 1/2 Tablespoons Cocoa
  • 1/3 Cup Milk
  • 1 Pound Confectioner's Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350.

Cake

1. Mix Flour and Sugar in a large bowl.

2. Put Margarine, Cocoa, Water, and Vegetable Shortening in a pan and bring to a boil stirring constantly.

3. Pour cooked ingredients over the Flour and Sugar mix. Add Buttermilk, Eggs, Baking Soda, and Vanilla. Mix well with whisk.

4. Greace and flour a 9" cake pan. Pour in mixed ingredients.

5. Bake at 350 for 26-30 minutes.

Frosting

1. Put Confectioner's Sugar in a large bowl.

2. About 5 Minutes before the cake is ready, put Margarine, Cocoa, and Milk into the same pan used before and bring it to a boil stirring constantly.

3. Pour cooked ingredients over the Confectioner's Sugar and mix well with whisk.

COULD BE SUGAR GOES INTO COOKED INGREDIENTS AND IS BROUGHT BACK TO BOIL.

4. Pour the hot frosting over the cake and soon as the cake comes out of the oven.
