Ingredients
- 2 2 2 large eggs
- 1 1 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1 8 cup 8 ounces sour cream
- 1/2 1/2 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 1 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 2 2 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 2 2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 1/4 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 12 12 12 ounces strawberries hulled
- to sugar to dust on top
- Strawberry Sauce
- 16 16 16 ounces strawberries hulled and halved
- 1/4 1/4 1/4 cup sugar

Preparation
Step 1
1. Butter a 9 inch springform pan and line with parchment paper. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
2. Prepare 12 ounces of strawberries for the cake dice 6 ounces of strawberries and slice the second 6 ounces into halves
3. In a large bowl using electric hand mixer beat together 2 eggs with 1 cup sugar on high speed for 5 minuets or until light in color and thick
4. Add 1 cup sour cream, 1/2 cup oil, 1 teaspoon Vanilla and beat on low until well combined
5. In a small bowl, whisk together 2 cups flour,2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/4 teaspoons salt until well incorporated. With the mixer on low speed add flour mixture to the batter 1/3 at a time letting the flour mix well with each addition and continue mixing just until well mixed
Pour half the batter into prepared pan.Top with 6 ounces of diced strawberries then spread remaining batter over top. Cover the surface with 6 ounces of halved strawberries,cutting side down.pressing them down just slightly into batter.Bake at 375 degrees for 45 to 55 minuets or until tooth pick is clean..Let cake cool for 20 minuets then remove ring and cool to room temperature 6. While cake is baking make strawberry sauce . In a blender mix 16 ounces of strawberries and 1/4 cup sugar and blend until puréed
6. Cut and Sever with strawberries sauce
