Chocolate on Chocolate Dessert in a Glass 1 Picture

Ingredients

  • For the Pudding:
  • 1 1 1 box (3.9 ounces) instant chocolate pudding
  • to milk (amount according to package instructions
  • For the Cake (there will be extra left over):
  • 1 1 1 box (15.2 ounces) of chocolate fudge cake mix

  • 2 2 2 teaspoons butter, softened (for greasing the pan or glass baking dish)
  • For the Frosting:
  • 1/2 1/2 1/2 cup dark cocoa powder
  • 1/4 1/4 1/4 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 1 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 3 2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons milk
  • 1-1/2 1-1/2 1-1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • For the Ganache:
  • 1/2 1/2 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 3 3 3 tablespoons milk

Preparation

Step 1

Directions:
For the Pudding:
1. In a medium size bowl, add the ingredients according to the package instructions.
2. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator.

For the Cake:
1. Preheat the oven according to the package instructions.
2. In a large bowl, add the ingredients according to package instructions.
3. Grease the pan or oven-proof glass baking dish with butter.
4. Add the cake batter to the pan and bake in a preheated oven according to the package instructions.
5. Let the cake cool (while still in the pan).
6. Cut about 1/3 of the cake into cubes (1-inch square) and set aside. There will be extra cake left over.

After the cake has cooled and you're ready to assemble the desserts, make the frosting and then the ganache.

For the Frosting:
1. In a medium size bowl, add melted butter.
2. Add cocoa powder and stir until creamy.
3. Add powdered sugar, milk and vanilla extract.
4. With a mixer, beat until creamy. Set aside for a moment.

For the Ganache:
1. In a small microwavable bowl, add chocolate chips and milk.
2. Cover the top of the bowl with a paper towel and warm in the microwave for 20 seconds.
3. With a spoon, mix the chocolate until smooth.

For the Dessert Assembly:
1. In serving glasses, add a layer of pudding.
2. Add a layer of cake.
3. Drizzle ganache on top of the cake.
4. Add another layer of cake.
5. Drizzle ganache on top of the cake.
6. Spread a thick layer of frosting on top of the cake.
7. Drizzle ganache on top of the frosting.
8. Garnish with chocolate candy sprinkles.
9. Serve as soon as possible.
