    1 Cup butter softened

    1 cup sugar

    3 eggs

    1 tsp vanilla

    1 tsp anise extract

    3 cups flour

    1 tbl baking powder

  • 1/2 1/2

    1/2 tsp salt

    1 cup chopped almonds

Directions

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time Stir in extracts,combine flour,baking powder,and salt. add to the creamed mixture. stir in almonds. Line a baking sheet with foil and grease the foil. divide the dough in half. On the foil form dough into two 11x3 rectangles. Bake at 300 for 35 min. or until golden brown and firm to the touch.remove from oven and increase temp to 325. Using the foil lift the rectangles on to a wire rack. cool completely. cut diagonally into 3/4 inch slices.PLce cut side down on ungreased baking sheet. bake 10 min. turn over ND Bke 10 mins longer. cool completely on racks. store in airtight containers
