Ingredients
- 4strips4 strips thick cut bacon cut into 1/4ths
- 2medium2 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1/21/2 green bell pepper finely chopped
- 2cloves2 cloves garlic, minced
- 215 oz cans2 15 oz cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/3c1/3 c molasses
- 1/4c1/4 c bbq sauce
- 1/4c1/4 c ketchup
- 3tbsp3 tbsp dark brown sugar
- 1tbsp1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- 1tbsp1 tbsp prepared mustard
- 1tbsp1 tbsp dried mustard
- 1tbsp1 tbsp cider vinegar
- 1/4tsp1/4 tsp liquid smoke
- salt and pepper to taste

Step 1
Cook bacon in a heavy pot over medium heat. Discard all but 2 tbsp fat. Add onion, pepper and garlic. Cook until soft.
Stir in beans, molasses, BBQ sauce, ketchup, worcestershire sauce, mustards, vinegar and liquid smoke. Simmer beans, uncovered until thick and flavored, about 10-15 mins.
Place in a baking dish at 350 degrees for 30 mins. Add salt and pepper.
