Ingredients
- 2 cups plus 2 TBLSPs all purpose flour
- 2 tsps baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine at room temp
- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 4 squares (1 oz each) unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar

Preparation
Step 1
1) Prepare oven to 350 degrees after dough has been refrigerated
2) Lightly grease cookie sheets.
3) Mix flour, baking powder and salt. In a large bowl beat butter and granulated sugar with electric mixer until fluffy.
4) Beat in eggs until mixture is pale yellow, then vanilla and chocolate until blended.
5) Gradually add flour mixture, mixing just to blend.
6) Refrigerate dough about 1 hour
7) Shape heaping tsps of dough into 1 1/4 inch balls
8) Roll in confectioners' sugar.
9) Place 1 1/2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets.
10) Bake about 12 minutes until tops are puffed and crackled. (do not overbake)
11) Cookies are soft when hot but firm and chewy when cool
12) Remove to rack to cool.
