Ingredients
- 3 c sliced apples
- 1/4 c sugar
- 1/2 t cinnamon
- pinch of nutmeg
- 1 c flour
- 1 c sugar
- 1/2 t salt
- 1 egg
- 6 T butter, melted

Preparation
Step 1
Line a buttered 10" x 6" x 1 1/2" baking dish with apple slices (or 9" pie plate or 9" x 13" pan for double recipe). Combine sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg and sprinkle over apples.
Topping:
Sift together flour, sugar & salt. Add egg. Toss mixture together until crumbly and spoon over apples. Drizzle melted butter over top and bake at 375 for 35-40 minutes. Serve topped with vanilla ice cream.
*When using peaches, sprinkle fruit with 1 T lemon juice instead of sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg mixture.
