Braised Short Ribs

  • 6 lbs beef short ribs
  • oil
  • salt and pepper
  • flour
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 large carrot, sliced
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 (8oz) can tomato sauce



Step 1

Brown the ribs in a small amount of oil in Dutch oven. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and small amount of flour and continue to cook until browned on all sides. Add onion, carrot, celery and tomato sauce. Pour boiling water over ribs to cover. Cover and cook until tender, about one and a half to 2 hours, or until meat is tender.
