Bacon Braised Green Beans

Ingredients
- 1 T olive oil
- 6 slices bacon, diced
- 1 cup thinly sliced onion
- 2 T sliced garlic
- 2 lb green beans, rinsed and trimmed
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 t salt
- 1/2 t freshly ground pepper

Preparation
Step 1
Heat oil in a dutch oven over med heat
Add the bacon and cook, stirring occasionally until well browned, about 5 minutes
Add the onion and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onion is translucent, 3-4 minutes.
Add the beans and toss to combine
Increase the heat to medium high and add the chicken broth
As soon as the chicken broth begins to boil, cover with a lid and cook for about 6 minutes
Remove the lid and season the beans with salt and pepper and toss well
Replace the lid and cook until the beans are tender, 1-2 minutes longer
Remove from heat and transfer the beans to a platter
Serves 4-6
