Ingredients

  • Crispy cooked bacon
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 2 onions finely chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 4 Tbsp flour
  • 3 potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 2-6 oz cans clams drained
  • 4 cups heated clam juice
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 1 cup whip cream
  • salt and pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter and oil
Add onion and garlic and cook for 5 minutes
Sprinkle in flour and stir for 2 minutes
Add potatoes and heated clam juice. Bring to a boil.
Add salt and pepper
Simmer for 20 minutes
Stir in half and half
Add clams and bacon and heat for 10 minutes
Remove from heat and add whip cream

**Use cornstarch mixture to thicken if needed
