Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb bacon
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper ad or celery
  • 1 small onion
  • 3/4 lb ground beef
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups uncooked macaroni
  • 1 10 oz can tomato soup
  • 1 can water

Step 1

Cook bacon well, cut into small pieces. Set aside. Cook ground beef, adding chopped onion, green pepper and/or celery. Cook until beef browns and vegetables soften. Add spices. Mix meat mixture, bacon and cooked macaroni in large bowl. In anoth3er bowl, combine soup and water. Stir into macaroni mixture, blending well. Put half of mixture into casserole dish; cover with 1 cup shredded cheese. Put remaining mixture on top; top with remaining cheese. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes at 325F. Freezes nicely.
