Chili con carné

Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef/chicken/turkey
- 1/3 cup oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 inch ginger, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 3 tablespoons Perfect Taste Curry Powder
- 1 can (28 oz.) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (19 oz.) chick peas
- 1 can (19 oz.) red kidney beans
- 3 cans (each 14 oz.) beans with maple syrup, or brown beans
- 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste

Step 1
“If you do not use meat ------- Add an extra can of chick peas with liquid”
In a large pot, heat oil and sauté onion until soft, then add ginger and garlic and stir for a minute or so (do not brown).
Lower heat to medium, add the Perfect Taste Curry Powder, stirring for 30 seconds.
Add beef to curry mixture, raise the heat, add salt and cook meat for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
Add tomatoes and mix well with the beef, cooking for a minute longer.
Add chick peas and kidney beans with liquid and mix well with the beef.
Cover the pot and bring the mixture to a simmer, cook for two minutes.
Add brown sugar and beans with maple syrup.
Continue to simmer – cover and cook for five more minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent the mixture from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
