Ingredients

  • For gravy:
  • 10 cups chicken broth (about 5 cans)
  • 1 can Golden Mushroom soup
  • 1 1/2 sticks margarine
  • 1/4 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 big skillet cornbread
  • 2 slices white bread
  • 6 boiled eggs
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 boiled egg

Preparation

Step 1

Bring broth, soup and margarine to a boil. Add onion and simmer until it is soft and clear. Reserve 1 cup. Crumble cornbread and white bread. Add 6 chopped eggs and stir. Pour broth mixture into the crumbled bread (a little at a time) and stir until liquid is absorbed. Pour dressing into a buttered casserole dish and bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes or until browned.

Gravy:
With 1 cup reserved broth mixture, mix 1 tbsp flour and 1/2 cup milk. Add 1 chopped boiled egg and bring to a boil. Simmer until thickened.
