Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp whole pepper
  • 1 tbsp mixed pickling spices
  • 1/2 small onion sliced
  • 1/4 tspwhite sugar
  • A sprinkle of cumin (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Fill a sterilized jar with the uncooked wieners (or hard boiled eggs).
Mix ingredients, bring to boil, and then simmer for 5 minutes
Strain and pour over wieners (or eggs)
Cover the jar. Let cool.
Refrigerate for 2 to 3 days before using
They will keep indefinitely in a cool or refrigerated location.

Eggs can go bad if kept too long (more than 3 to 4 months
