Cacao Macaroons

Recipe by SweetBeetandGreenbean These are some tasty treats that can take on a serious chocolate craving but are made with fresh raw cacao, coconut, ground seeds, natural sweeteners, no flour and each has less than 7g of sugar. Even people who don’t normally like health food have told me they love these little things!

Ingredients
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1/4 cup cacao nibs
- 2 tbsp coconut sugar
- 1 tbsp black sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp flax seeds
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- dash of sea salt
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Preparation
Step 1
Use a spice grinder or food processor to finely grind half of the coconut as well as all of the cacao nibs and seeds. Mix the ground ingredients with the rest of shredded coconut, coconut sugar and salt. Then evenly mix in the maple syrup, coconut oil and vanilla.
Scoop a small amount of the dough and flatten it a bit with your hands, this recipe makes about nine or ten. Either bake at 250F for 1 hour or dehydrate at 130F overnight (6-9 hours.) Store in an airtight container and for a week or two, if they last that long!.
