  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 6 tablespoon sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 3 tablespoon salad oil

Step 1

Sift together dry ingredients. Make a depression in the center and add eggs and oil. Mix thoroughly. Roll out into 1/8 inch thickness on a lightly floured board. Cut into rounds about 3 inches in diameter. Place a tablespoon of filling on each round. Bring 3 sides of the circles together at the center to form triangles. Pinch the edges together in form a slight ridge. Beat 1 egg and glaze top of hamentaschen. Bake on a greased baking tin in a 350 degree oven until golden brown (about 35 minutes). Makes 15 very large hamentaschen. (To make smaller ones, cut rounds about 2 1/2 inches.
