- 1 1-inch ginger root , peeled, rough chopped
- 3 cups water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional) , to taste

Instructions
Place the ginger in a pot and fill with the water. Bring to a boil, then add the cinnamon stick and stir in the turmeric and cayenne pepper.
Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice.
Pour the tea through a strainer into a mug.
Sweeten to taste with honey (optional).
