Ingredients

  • 1/2 lbs grated gouda cheese
  • 1.5 lbs grated vermont cheddar cheese
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 lbs elbow macaroni cooked and drained
  • Half and half
  • Grated parmesan cheese
  • Salt, pepper and garlic
  • Creme fraishe

Preparation

Step 1

Cook pasta and drain. Set aside. In a double boiler add 1/2 cup half and half and the butter. Stir until melted than add the cream cheese and continue to stir. Start adding grated cheese and stir until melted. Keep adding a little at a time and stir until melted. You want to keep it thick and creamy but liquid. Add more half and half to get desired density. Once all the cheese is blended remove from the heat. Let cool a little. Stir in the eggs until blended. Season with salt, pepper and garlic to taste and add this to the cooked macaroni. Pour into a greased baker pan. Stir in 3 Tbsp of creme fraishe. Cover with half and half and sprinkle with some grated parmasan cheese.

Bake 1 hour at 350c and should have a golden crust on top.
