  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 3 cups flour sifted
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla (added to milk)

Step 1

Sift flour and dry ingredients together two times. Set aside. Cream butter, margarine and shortening. Add sugar 1 cup at a time and beat well. Add eggs, one at a time. Add flour mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour. Grease and flour 10 inch tube cake pan. Bake in 325 degree oven for 1 1/4 hours or until cakes tests done.

Frost with Chocolate Icing.
