- 4 cups vanilla chips (Gui ttard & Nestle's are ? brands), divided
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups all-purp ose flo ur
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons almond extract
- ] cup seedless raspberry fru it spread or preserv es (All Fruit is good)
- ;;;' cup sliced almonds

Preparation
Step 1
Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Remove and add 2 cup s
vanilla chips . Let stand - DO NOT STIR
Beat eggs until foamy in large electric mixer bowl. Gradually add sugar,
beating at high speed until lemon-colored. Stir in vanilla chip-butter
mixture . Add flour. san and ext rac t. and mix on low speed unt il JUS!
combined.
Spread half the batter in a greased, floured J3 x 9 x 2 inch baking pari.
Bake in preheated 325 deg oven 15 1O 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Stir remaining 2 cups vanilla chips into remaining carter and set aside .
Melt raspberry preserves in a saucepan i or microwave) an d spread eveniy
over cooked batter , Gent ly spoon reserved barter over frui t (some frui t
mav show through). Sprinkl e with almonds. Bah 30 to ~ 5 minutes more.
until lightly browned . Lei coo l complete ly anc cut into 1 -inch square r.
