Ingredients
- 2 slices bacon, diced
- 2 7 oz. cans minced clams
- 1 potato, diced
- 1/4 cup onion, chopped
- 1 carrot, diced
- 2 Tbs celery, diced
- 2 Tbs butter
- 2 Tbs flour
- 1 1/3 cup milk, divided
- 1 tsp salt
- dash pepper
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper

Preparation
Step 1
1. Put bacon in 2 qt. Microwave safe dish. Microwave High 2-2 1/2 mins. Set aside. Add liquid from the clams, the potato, onion & carrot to the drippings. Cover and microwave High for 8-10 mins. Blend flour with 1/3 cup milk. Stir into veggies. Mix in 1 cup milk with remaining ingredients, including clams. Recover and cook on Roast (70% Power) for 5 mins. Stir and cook 3-4 more mins on Roast. Let stand 3 mins and serve.
Tips
Trader Joe carries a mixed blend of frozen seafood, which includes shrimp, calamari and scallops. Boil the seafood about 3 minutes. Use a bottle of clam juice and you have an excellent seafood chowder.
