Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup chunk-style peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Granulated sugar
  • Salted peanuts, halved

Step 1

Thoroughly cream together butter, peanut, butter, sugars, egg, and vanilla. Sift together, flour, soda, and salt; blend into creamed mixture. Shape dough in 1 inch balls; roll in granulated sugar. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Press a few peanut halves on balls of dough. Bake cookies in moderate oven (375 degrees) for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool slightly on cookie sheet; remove to rack to cool completely.
