Ingredients
- 1 box of pasta 16 ozs. (I use cavatappi pasta)
- 6 tbls. butter
- 41/2 tbls. flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 3/4 cup light cream
- 1 cup sour cream (8 ozs.)
- 2 pkgs (8ozs each) Shredded Mac and Cheese Blend* from Giant supermarket)
- this is a blend of NY sharp cheddar, American and Swiss cheeses shredded
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 tsp onion powder
- 3/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1 cup butter crackers, crumbled

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Cook pasta as directed , drain and set aside
Melt the butter in a saucepan. When bubbly add the flour and whisk until smooth. Add the sour cream and blend in the mixture until smooth milk and cream gradually. Allow the sauce to thicken while continuing to whisk for smoothness.Ad three cups of the cheese and stir until fully melted. Add salt, garlic and onion powders, Whisk into mixture.
Pour pasta into a 9 x 13 baking dish. Pour the cheese sauce over the pasta and mix thoroughly. Sprinkle the remaining cup of cheese over the top. Spread the crumbled crackers over the top of the mac and cheese dish.
Bake for 15 minutes.
