Ingredients
- 8 oz. butter
- 3 or 4 peeled, cored and thinly sliced apples
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 3 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup walnut pieces

Step 1
Preheat oven to 300*
Grease sides of 10" spring form pan and line the base with baking paper
Melt butter in large Dutch oven. Remove from heat and mix in apples and sugar then the eggs. Stir in the rest of the ingredients. Stir just enough to blend evenly. Spread into prepared pan and bake until it is risen and golden and the top bounces back when pressed (about 1 hour and 20 minutes)
Allow to cool for 15 minutes before taking out of the pan. Keep in the fridge for 3 to 4 days and reheat and top with custard or whipped cream
