Ingredients

  • 4 quarts water
  • 1 can beer (optional)
  • 1/2 c. Old Bay seasoning
  • 2 T. salt
  • 12 med red potatoes, quartered
  • 3 onions, cut into wedges
  • 3 lbs smoked sausage, cut into 2" pieces
  • 8 ears of fresh corn, cut into 3" pieces
  • 4 pounds of unpeeled jumbo shrimp (21-25 count)
  • Melted butter and french bread

Preparation

Step 1

Bring water, beer, Old Bay and salt to boil in 12 quart stockpot on high heat. Add potatoes and onions. Cook 8 minutes. Add smoked sausage and cook 5 minutes. Add corn and cook 7 minutes. Stir in shrimp and cook about 4 minutes just until shrimp turns pink. Drain and pour into mound on paper covered table. Sprinkle with Old Bay seasoning, if desired. Serve with melted butter and french bread.
