Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 10 oz jar maraschino cherries (take out 18) drained and finely chopped, reserve juice
- FROSTING
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 9 maraschino cherries
- 1/8 cup reserved cherry juice + 2 Tablespoons

Preparation
Step 1
preheat oven to 350*
cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy
add eggs and vanilla
combine flour, baking powder and salt
gradually add dry ingredients and milk
spray 9X13 pan thoroughly with nonstick cooking spray
spread batter into pan
bake at 350* fr 35 to 40 minutes
FROSTING
whip butter, sugar and 1/4 cup reserved cherry syrup
add more cherry juice as needed until icing is creamy and thick enough to spread
remove dividers and spread icing on cooled cakes
top each cake with one maraschino cherry
