Ingredients

  • 1 bunch broccoli, trimmed
  • 2 onions finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup grated Swiss or cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups cottage cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven 375. Butter a 10 in. pie plate.
2. Boil or steam broccoli until tender. Drain well and chop.
3. Cook onions and garlic in butter for 5 minutes. Add broccoli. Stir in dill and cook for a few minutes longer. Spread vegetable mixture in bottom of buttered pan.
4. Sprinkle vegetables with grated cheese.
5. Beat eggs with cottage cheese, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Pour into pan.
6. Bake 35 - 40 minutes until custard slighly puffed and golden brown. Do not overbake. Allow 10 minutes before serving.
