Step 1
Add 1/2 cup of vegetable shortening, 1/2 cup of vegetable oil, and 1/2 cup of all-purpose flower to a mixing bowl. Whisk the mixture until the ingredients are well incorporated, then transfer the mixture to an airtight container. To use, simply use a pastry brush or clean fingers to spread a thin layer of the mixture into your baking pan. Store the rest of the mixture at room temperature for up to six months.
