Ingredients
- SAUCE:
- 1 medium cabbage
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 onion, finely diced
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- (we always double the sauce recipe!)

Step 1
Cook cabbage until outer leaves peel off easily. Drain and cool cabbage. Remove leaves. Chop the rest of the cabbage (smaller leaves) coarsely and place in a greased roasting pan.
Mix the ground beef, rice, onion, milk and salt and pepper. Place a portion of the filling in the center of each cabbage leaf. Fold in the sides of each leaf to enchose filling and roll up firmly.
Put cabbage roll seam side down on top of the chopped cabbage. Combine the bouillon and water and stir until dissolved and add tomato sauce and pour over cabbage rolls.
Bake 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours uncoverd. Cover if necessary during baking if cabbage is getting too browned.
