Ingredients

  • 13 slices bacon, uncooked
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350F.
2. Heat vegetable oil over medium high heat in a skillet. Cook onion and garlic until softened, about 6 minutes.
3. In the meantime, add egg, tomato sauce, breadcrumbs, mushrooms, ground beef, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Add in cooked onions and garlic and combine together with clean hands.
4. Lay out slices of bacon on a baking sheet. Spread meat mixture thinly over slices. Roll up like a jelly roll. Bake for 45 minutes. Serve hot.
